Sensorium 360°

Visited the Sensorium 360° exhibition at Singapore Art Museum during class a few weeks back.
Sensorium 360° is an exhibition of contemporary art that calls upon
the complexity of the 5 human senses and explores how these sensory experiences locate us in
understanding the world and knowing the self.

Immediately as we entered the exhibition, the walls at every side were filled with different quotes in relation to the exhibition theme.
Among all the quotes, i liked this one;

'It is not a fragrant world' - Raymond Chandler

A part in the exhibition was to smell different types of scent.
As for the picture above, it is said in the description that the different scents that were placed in each test tube creates sound when put in line together.
True enough, it actually did make some noise!
For the scent of the liquids, it was really strong and piercing.
So,,,i did not really find it pleasuring to smell.

There was this small bowl of coffee bean placed next to the room which had a variety of strong scents.
The coffee bean is supposed to help in getting rid of the scent from our noses.
I think the colour of the coffee beans were very pretty.

The image above was taken in a small room after one part of the exhibition.
It asked ' How do you feel today? ' and there were those shiny round papers and some markers for us to write how we felt that day and hang them up.
Mine were the ones with '-JLSY' written on it.

Moving on to another room..

The picture above totally explains what the exhibits were in the room.

In the last room, there were different scents available for us to smell.
The walls were filled with drawings and pictures.
The drawings looked sketchy but well done.

In conclusion, i think that this exhibition allowed the class and myself to experience the five senses ourselves. I enjoyed the exhibits very much as it was very interesting.
